Rachel Williams and John Hancock - St Marys Church, Hitchin
and Priory Barn, Little Wymondley
Style and attention to detail was important at the October wedding of John and Rachel. John is a car designer and Rachel an IT project manager. Rachel was well organised and John had strong ideas on design for the overall look of the flowers and designs for the reception. He was at a disadvantage with the bridal flowers, however, as the dress was top secret! But Rachel managed to work with his ideas and the black and white colour theme without giving anything away. The result was simple and stylish – with around 600 creamy white roses as the only flower. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet bound with crystal organza ribbon and fastened with Swarovski crystal hearts. The bridesmaids followed suit, the stems of their bouquets bound with black organza ribbon and jet pins to complement their dresses.
At the reception the rose theme continued with stunning tall glass vases containing large balls of roses with similar low arrangements on the top table. The four-tier wedding cake was topped with a rose decoration and grass threaded with crystal beads.
Even the best planned weddings need a stroke of luck, and John and Rachel got this too when the sun came out for their big day.
