Anna Holmes and Alistair Thornley – Dorton House, Bucks
On a lovely Bank Holiday Sunday in August, vintage was the theme for the wedding flowers of Alistair and Anna. A dusky pink rose - strangely called Amnesia – was the focal flower for Anna’s bouquet which also included astrantia and sedum in toning shades, with cream freesia for scent. The bouquet included trailing ivy to complement the train on her stunning wedding dress in ivory satin. The bridesmaids carried hand-tied bouquets in similar shades which were perfect against their sage green satin dresses.
Dorton House is a fabulous venue for a wedding, with the country church of Dorton Church situated just to the rear. The main building where the reception was held has a large sweeping drive and oak panelled rooms, ideally suited to the theme and to the rustic candelabra table decorations.
