Andrea and Henry, Coltsfoot Country Retreat
Andrea was lucky to have mum Anne to help plan her flowers, as after the initial consultation much of our contact with her was by blackberry from an airport runway! Andrea did a lot of travelling before the wedding and family and friends came from far and wide to celebrate the big day. The ceremony was at her old school at Haileybury with the reception at Coltsfoot Country Retreat. Although Andrea chose white for the bridal flowers, she added rich dark red roses to the reception flowers to complement the bridesmaids dresses and the velvet cape of the flower girl, perfect for a wedding the week before Christmas.
Andrea, tall and elegant, chose a large country style bouquet of cream roses, hypericum, tree ivy and fern, which set off beautifully her traditional gown and matching coat. The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet and were wrapped with crystal organza ribbon, fastened with crystal and pearl pins. The groom was tall enough to take a double rose buttonhole to give the finishing touch to his morning suit. A cream orchid hairband was chosen for the flower girl trimmed with crystal beads, with orchid buttonholes for the pageboys.
The country feel continued with the reception flowers, where the winter theme was complemented by wrought iron candelabra arrangements of deep red roses, skimmia and cream freesia, The candles giving a warm glow. A large urn on the piano welcomed guests for the evening dancing, ending a perfect winter’s day
