Miss Hertfordshire 2010 - Gordon Craig Theatre Stevenage

How beauty competitions have moved on since Miss World was a regular feature on television! The heats are full of intelligent, ambitious girls who come from all walks of life. Some are university students who want to be doctors, lawyers or teachers as well as those in youth service and physical fitness training. Last year’s winner, Suzi Cummings was a trainee firefighter and the winner for 2010, Amy Green, is the managing director of Revolution Telecoms. Many entered because of the opportunity it gave them to represent their county and broaden their horizons in a way not normally open to them.

An integral part of the competition is raising funds for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. The organisation helps to break the isolation of deafness providing hearing dogs to assist their owners. Such dedication takes a long period of training and because only the best make it, it is an expensive business. The finalists of Miss Hertfordshire 2010 raised £6300 towards this cause this year which shows that winning such a competition now takes much more than a pretty face!

Daizy are proud to be the official florist for Miss Hertfordshire for the third year running.
